The objective of this Geosuccess website is to demonstrate a variety of operational products based on remote sensing data, which give timely information on the evolution of the vegetation cover and its related parameters. Some of these products are calculated in near real time, at the global or regional scale.

• Burn Scar Detection > Atmospheric emissions, green recovery
  
  
• Apparent Green Cover Percentage > Food security, desertification, vegetation cover, planning for action
  
  
• Small Water Bodies > Water and health management
  
  

The following products from the Globcarbon project, will soon be available to all users

• Burnt area products > New burnt areas detected in the last month.
  
  
• Leaf area index > Derived from the combined use of ATSR and VEGETATION instruments.
  
  
• fAPAR > Derived from the daily LAI intermediate products, combined with viewing and solar zenith angles and a ground cover based LUT.
  
  
• Vegetation Growth Cycle Parameters > Derived from the LAI products. It is a yearly product containing information on the growth season.


After download, products will remain available for download for a period of 10 days, starting from the products first availability. Once the product is downloaded, it will be removed from the ftp-site after 24 hours. When the product is not downloaded within 7 days, the user will receive an e-mail notification that the product ordered will expire in 3 days. When the product is not downloaded within 10 days, it will be deleted. Each user will have a maximum space of 5 Gb for downloading Geosuccess products, and 5 Gb for downloading Globcarbon products..

Geosuccess aims to provide operational services to the R&D community, and by doing so, to bridge the gap between scientists and the end-users of higher level information on the environment.
